We’re excited to launch GEMX MakeME 2026, bringing together 16 schools and companies from Derry, Limavady, Strabane, and Donegal to connect young people with the world of engineering, manufacturing and industry across the North West.
Our launch event at the Waterfoot Hotel on the 8th October celebrated the power of collaboration between education and industry, and the opportunities that can be created when companies invest in the next generation.
From inspiring conversations and student voices to new industry partnerships, the launch set the tone for a year of hands-on experiences, skills development and career exploration.
A huge thank you to our partners, sponsors, schools and companies for their continued support, and a special mention to our student ambassadors for sharing how MakeME is helping young people challenge perceptions, broaden their horizons and discover the many pathways to success.
With 80% of students reporting increased confidence and career awareness, MakeME is helping turn potential into opportunity.
Here’s to an exciting year ahead for the MakeME 2026 cohort! 🙌
