We have recently launched STEM workshops in primary schools across Derry and Donegal through our FutureGEMs programme. Led by our Education Officer, Cieara Laidler, alongside industry representatives, these sessions give students the opportunity to build simplified movable models such as electric cars and rockets.

Through these hands-on activities, we are bringing classroom learning to life while raising awareness of North West companies and the innovative products they develop. Students engage directly with industry professionals, helping to bridge the gap between education and industry and offering valuable insight into real-world STEM applications.

The workshops aim to broaden students’ horizons by showcasing diverse career pathways and helping them understand how STEM subjects connect to their future. By challenging stereotypes, particularly around gender and background, we support students in building confidence, increasing ambition, and seeing themselves in STEM roles.
