On January 20th, GEMX attended the Graduate Digital Readiness Breakfast, hosted and facilitated by Ulster University. The event focused on the discussions of findings from their 2025 Ulster University Graduate Employer Survey and graduate readiness with a focus on emerging technologies such as AI. Conversations explored topics such as the fast-changing digital landscape and the continued importance of core skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.

The event ran from 9am to 11.30am, beginning with a provided breakfast for attendees. Then we heard from the Artificial Intelligence Collaboration Centre (AICC), who shared how they can support local employers harnessing the benefits of AI in the workplace, and Ulster University Economic Policy Centre, who dived into their results from the recent Graduate Employer Survey.

There was also a student panel, which GEMX Media Officer Zara participated in to share her perspective as a current placement student. Herself and other panelists discussed their experiences on getting employed after graduating, and how prepared they felt entering the workplace.

Overall, it was a very informative and enjoyable morning with plenty of interesting discussions and insightful data.
