A huge thank you to Seating Matters for hosting the latest GEMX Lean on Me session on September 2nd.
We started the morning by joining the team’s Morning Meeting, before Ciara led us through a Lean Tour of the operation — giving the group the opportunity to see continuous improvement in practice rather than simply hear about it.
Martin Tierney then shared the thinking behind IKIGAI and “Who We Are”, exploring the importance of purpose, identity and culture within the organisation.
Rachel followed with “Leading Change – People, Purpose and Potential”, providing some great insights into the people side of continuous improvement and the importance of bringing teams with you on the journey.
Leaders from Zeus, McColgan’s, Inishowen Engineering and Seagate joined the Seating Matters team for the session, sharing experiences, asking questions and learning from one another.
And that is really what Lean on Me is about.
Companies across the North West opening their doors, sharing what works — and what they have learned along the way — and helping each other become better businesses.
Another step towards GEMX’s vision of:
“Driving transformative collaboration in engineering and manufacturing — building skills, innovation and sustainable growth across the North West of Ireland.”
A big thank you to the entire Seating Matters team, and particularly Ciara, Martin and Rachel, for their openness, enthusiasm and hospitality.
