On Thursday 20th of November, we saw the beginning of the next round of events for the MakeME Academy – Meet the GEMs.
These sessions will allow students involved in the MakeME Academy to meet a range of people from NW companies and hear firsthand about products, companies, education choices and career pathways. One of the core principles of MakeME is that pupils will meet people they wouldn’t normally meet.
We aim to encourage conversation between young people and engineers, sparking interest and curiosity in an informal setting. The students’ enthusiasm and inquisitiveness surrounding the engineering and manufacturing sector so far has been incredible and is why we continue to do the work that we do.

26th November – The Royal and Prior Comprehensive School
1st December – St Joseph’s Boys’ School
2nd December – Carndonagh Community School
3rd December – Lumen Christi College
4th December – Lisneal College
8th December – St Mary’s College
9th December – Scoil Mhuire
11th December – Oakgrove College
17th December – St Brigid’s College
