Teachers from several Northwest schools had the opportunity to experience first-hand The LYCRA Company. Teachers met a range of employees who openly discussed their current job role and their career path to date. They all had very interesting stories to tell and provided a wealth of experience which can now be relayed back to pupils in local schools.

The teachers were delighted to be able to have a tour around the factory and see the manufacturing and laboratory environments.

Networks have now been established between the attending schools and the company representatives which will foster effective collaboration going forward. Presentation material from the visit will be shared and can also be accessed from the GEMX site.

Many of the attending teachers were completely unaware of the existence of The LYCRA Company so this meeting also served as a way to increase visibility of the company brand locally.

The LYCRA Company prides itself on the calibre of its employees and the HR Team was keen to provide advice and guidance for the teachers in relation to recruitment. It is important that young people recognise that they need to be able to demonstrate values that companies such as The LYCRA Company will be looking for in addition to educational qualifications .
